Mark Twain on Education

When we discuss education, we often refer to the narrow definition of the word which means schooling or some formal courses of instruction.  The broader meaning of "education" should include things that we learn outside of the formal setting. Perhaps Mark Twain said it best when he jested "I never let the schools interfere with my education!"

Edison (the great inventor), Mark Twain, Li Ka Shing and Bill Gates and countless other great achievers share one thing in common...they did not attend or finish college.  Sometimes I wondered if these individuals became great BECAUSE they skipped college...hmmm!  Of course, that's just another one of my silly thoughts and wrong deductions.  I am glad that after all these years of formal education, my silliness survives and I am still capable of thinking outside the box.
