Civic Education for Hong Kong

Civic education has become the talk of town in Hong Kong. Supporters said it was high time we included civic education in our schools so our children would grow up to be proud patriots while dissidents feared that it was an attempt by the Central Government to brainwash our kids, to turn them into little "Red Guards" of the future. It is a sensitive, controversial topic the kind of which I would rather not get involved in.

So, instead, I would talk about something that perhaps we can all agree on and find a whole lot more interesting: Sex education for Hong Kong.

I believe that sex education is absolutely necessary, not just for school children, but for citizens of all ages. We must admit that many of us are still holding arcane notions on sex and that we can all benefit from further enlightenment regarding our attitude, perception and behavior on matters related to sex. The main obstacle in promoting sex education is the lack of qualified instructors in Hong Kong. It's hard to find individuals who are knowledgeable on sex matters and who are not biased in some way...

Now please substitute "civic" for "sex" in the previous paragraph.
