The all new principles of life

Let me point out at the outset that these New Principles are drafted for the ordinary folks and not members of this forum who are either gainfully employed or successful businessmen or living on a generous pension.  These principles are for those who are working hard to make ends meet or are working hard to find a job...

l Thanks to modern medicine, life is long (not short!).  You will most likely outlive your bank a/c.  So don't worry about having too much money left when you die because you are not going to have any.  Trust me!

l Don't expect you will leave any money to your children either.  With the skyrocketing healthcare cost, you are lucky if you don't become a burden to your children.

l Truth is: Everyday you live from now onwards, you are spending your children's "inheritance".  Ha!

l Don't even think of relying on the government in your old age.  The government is broke many times over and Social Security is officially bankrupt.

l Don't expect your children to pitch in because (remember?) you are the one who spent all their "inheritance"...they are still mad at you!

l If you are the kind who wishes for a long life, you should seriously reconsider.  In this "new" economy, a happy and short life might be better off than one that is long and requiring heavy maintenance.  Too bad none of us are in a position to choose!
