The
Wind Chimes and the Drum

The
“Wind Chimes”:
I
search the air far and near
for wailing gusts
or gentle breezes.
Tell
the world how I feel
about issues
important to me.
Express
my views on what I care
in sweet melody or
cacophony.
All
I ask
is that you lend
me your ears!
The
“Drum”:
I
put myself inside a box
fully enclosed and
bounded really tight.
See
nothing and pretend not to hear
any social ills or
injustice.
Mind
my own business
and keep to myself.
Never
make a sound
unless someone beats
on me!
