Double standards?

There are those who questioned the appropriateness of the death of Gadhafi (a shot in the head after he's been captured) but would insist it's perfectly alright for the US Navy Seals to execute Osama bin Laden on the spot and dumped his body into the sea...

In my mind, these acts are either both right or both wrong depending on where you stand between "fair trial" and "expediency".  To say that one is right and the other is wrong defies common sense.  Double standards should not be tolerated because they betray our sense of fairness and are insults to our intelligence.
