Dear Mr. Central Government, I have got a deal for you...

While we might spend day and night debating on the proper content of the proposed civic education, I think we can all agree that the objective of pushing civic education in Hong Kong at this PARTICULAR JUNCTURE is to make sure that people (especially young people) in Hong Kong are properly "educated" before you (Mr. Central Government) grants true universal suffrage in Hong Kong. They last thing you wanted is for Hong Kong to elect someone who is not 100% loyal to the Party.

I can fully understand that. So here's the deal: We will start civic education the minute we are granted TRUE universal suffrage. After all, you really can't have responsible, participatory citizenry without universal right to vote, can you? So what say you, Mr. Central Government?
