With such
eloquence and lucidity, I can now appreciate why Obama is having such a hard
time selling the ‘trust me, I can and will create jobs’ message to the
increasing sceptical American public.
I’ve read
somewhere that the US unemployment figure will come down soon, not because more
jobs are going to be created, but because many long-term unemployed simply give
up looking so they just ‘disappear into the masses’, and morph themselves into
the self-employed, contractors, under-employed, early-retired, stay-home
mum/dad, criminals, emigrants or commit suicide. So many will re-emerge as a number in the new businesses, emigration,
retired and crime and death statistics. Isn’t it
clever?
Hey pal, the
