More On Margaret Thatcher

Dr.
Hon : Margaret Thatcher is a divisive
leader.
The
NW is still hurting from the legacy of her government, in fact some Scots and
Liverpullian celebrated her death!
She
is the first female PM for us but she has done nothing to raise the profile of
female MPs.
She's
more man than most male English politicians! I'm bemused that the Conservatives
kept quiet about how they kicked her out. Politicians are the most hypocritical
creatures
Bob: I
don't know much about Margaret Thatcher's stand on various political issues,
but I believe in one thing: a good politician should have as many detractors as
supporters.
A politician who have no enemies
is most likely an overall nice guy (or lady) who steered clear of controversies
and hadn't tackled anything of significance or made any unpopular decisions...
and in my book that's not a good politician. Politicians make difficult
decisions, that's what they are for.
And difficult decisions are by
definition supported and opposed by nearly equal number of people.
Thus, a good politician will have
enemies. Look at Lincoln, JFK, Ghandi... got the picture?
