Thanks for posting the web link of 9-year old Chinese child prodigy pianist Serena Wang playing Chopin's very famous Fantasia Impromptu in C Sharp Minor which is one of my favorite Chopin pieces.
I have been a devoted fan of music before my high school days. I got a heavy dose of classical music appreciation education when I was a graduate student of Biochemistry at Indiana University, USA which trained many famous musicians such as violinist Joshua Bell who was a pre-college student of Professor Josef Gingold when I was at Indiana in the mid-80s .
Serena's performance with passion is truly excellent for a 9-year old. She needs the training with a great piano teacher such as Prof. Gary Graffman (major mentor of Lang Lang and WANG Yuja) of Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia, USA to mature further to the level of Lang Lang, Li Yundi and Wang Yuja. Serena certainly has great potential to achieve such top level piano solo performance as she has already been asked to play with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestre de Paris... My orchestral conductor/pianist friend and fellow alumni of Indiana University now teaches piano in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China> Youdani BUTT Chak Cheung (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ -To be continued- |
