In the past when western culture dominated, imported words abounded and words like "taxi", "bus" were taken for granted by Chinese (at least in Hong Kong). Now the table has turned and Chinese culture rules the day. Soon, many English derivatives of common Chinese words or phrases will find their way into the English vernacular. You might be familiar with some of these examples, but a few might be new to you (I hope, coz I just made them up!)

"Long time no see!"

"You ate rice yet?"

"Not soup, not water."

"Not salty, not bland."

"More saliva than tea."

"While the ground is soft..."

"No millihead" (now, that may be hard to figure out!)

"A goods" (you got it?)

"Eye fire explodes!" (easy!)
